We are proud AND excited to announce our new partnership with Grand Rapids Autonomous Support System. So DAAC will work with G.R.A.S.S. We think these are two acronyms that go PERFECTLY together.

With a vision on par with DAAC, G.R.A.S.S. describe themselves as a collective of "activists, musicians, volunteers, artists and all those Human beings who seek to make our community and the world at large a kinder and more nourishing place.” Along with endless possibilities to encourage and collaborate, G.R.A.S.S. will be using our space to hold their weekly meetings. They will also host monthly concerts and events, workshops, and would even love to do festivals. We agree that DAAC is the perfect space for them to showcase and share their diversity of creativity and resources.

Though this is recent news, G.R.A.S.S. has been in dialogue with DAAC since we first started working to get our new permanent location. They have also excelled at bringing people together and serving the community in much needed ways.

So give us a round of welcoming applause to all the great people who make up G.R.A.S.S. We’d like to give a special shout out to members Tony Geren and Leanna Wende as well, who have kept in constant communication with us, especially during the difficult year that was 2020. And as of January 2, 2021, G.R.A.S.S as generously pooled their funds to donate $1,000 to our rent and facilities fund. This is further proof of the importance of local cooperatives and organizations with similar vision working together during tough times.

We have been meeting virtually for the past few months out of COVID19 caution. But this partnership is another reason why we can’t wait for our town to reach a level of safety, thus allowing us to meet in person with G.R.A.S.S., future partners, and all of you.

So put your well-washed hands together once again for G.R.A.S.S. and this new partnership.

We hope this news excites you as much as it does us. Also, if you would like to be a partner with the DAAC by regularly using our facilities monthly and locking into a lower rental rate, please email info@thedaac.org to start the discussion.
