[Sign up!] Positions at music events include sound, general admissions & overall monitoring of the crowd and facility.
Typical time commitment is 5-6 hours.
You are the one to make sure the Performers load in/out on time, sound good, and that their sets stick to schedule! You will maintain the sound and lights for the evening, and make sure everything is used and stored properly for our community venue. Should have previous sound experience or training.
You will be the person checking in performers, open up communication between them & the Sound volunteer, and ensure they are checked-in with the General Admissions Volunteers. During events, you will also be in charge of helping the sound technician with set-up, checking bathroom supplies, cleaning & sanitizing, and overall building security & safety through the event.
Attendees will rely on you to admit them into the event, answer questions about the venue and The DAAC’s mission, sell them merchandise & concessions, and act as a guardian of the venue’s integrity and safety for everyone attending the event. You will be responsible for counting money, paying out performers, and creating money deposits for The DAAC. You will also be the one making sure all the opening/closing tasks and volunteer check-ins are completed.
[Sign Up!] The DAAC hosts artist exhibitions on a continuous basis throughout the year. Usually an art installation lasts about one month. The artists will have an Opening Reception at the beginning of the month and a Closing Reception at the end.
Typical time commitment: 4-5 hours
Upon arrival, you will help with set up of The DAAC merch station and snack station. After the doors open, you will help sell The DAAC merch, answer questions, and help sell the artists’ art.
At the end of the event, you will help wipe down surfaces and break down the tables and chairs.
The Really Really Free Market is a place to give or shop for items completely free of charge. No trade, no barter. Please only donate items in a condition that you would give to a friend. Items to expect: electronics, clothing, non-perishable food items (canned/dry goods), house plants, etc.
We need volunteers to receive and sort donated goods, greet people as they enter, and ensure the space is safe and clean. A typical shift is 2 hours long, but you can sign up for as many shifts as you like.
[Sign Up!] Committee members are the core volunteers who help keep The DAAC alive! There are always ongoing committee positions available to be filled at The DAAC. Time commitment varies, but is usually 1-2 hours a week and involves attending a monthly committee meeting. Committee members must be able to use Slack and email to communicate with each other.
